Kate is brimming with knowledge of the publishing industry and how to write and market books

Kate has recently joined Public Words and comes to us from 800-CEO-READ, the largest U.S. business bookstore, where she worked closely with publishers and business book authors under a variety of hats — editor, writer, publicist, blogger, project manager, marketer, and event organizer. There she managed the publication and launch of The 100 Best Business Books of All Time by Jack Covert and Todd Sattersten, published by Penguin’s Portfolio imprint in February 2009.

During her four-year stint she helped launch and develop inBubbleWrap, The 800-CEO-READ Business Book Awards, an author pow-wow series, a Milwaukee-based set of events under the name LeaveSmarter, and an annual print magazine In the Books. She was also part of a team that ran ChangeThis, a website started by Seth Godin which publishes monthly batches of inspiring manifestos.

Kate has a degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Marquette University.
