These seven steps to brain mastery are designed to put the best, most recent brain science together with traditional knowledge about storytelling and presence – and with what my work with clients has shown to produce results – in order to put you in control of your communications.
Strong human communications form the basis of a successful career, of leadership, or of celebrity. If you have charisma, you can effortlessly dominate a conversation, a room, or a stadium, in most cases. That is, all the effort goes into the preparation. If you’re ready, and in control of your gestural conversation, just as you are of your story or message, then you can take charge of the interaction, whether it’s with one person or one thousand.
That’s always been true.
What we know now, thanks to the brain research, is why, and how to do it better and more precisely. Humans need communion – in fact, our brains are hard-wired to seek it out, to connect with no apparent conscious thought, and to feel good when we are in communion with another human being. Or better yet, with a crowd. Our unconscious lives turn out to be much different that we have realized. Even than Dr. Freud realized. It’s not so much that our unconscious minds are so desperately selfish, as he proposed, but rather that we deeply need the connections, the emotions, and the validation that other human beings give us.
These seven steps take you through the process of mastering the ability to connect with others, to lead them, and to give them that emotional fulfillment that comes from joining a tribe with a strong leader who knows how to communicate and tell the stories that make sense to us and give us a feeling that our lives make sense.
If you go through the work and develop the ability, mastery is yours and your tribe awaits.
