Psychotherapist, podcaster, author and speaker Rachel Kaplan talks to Nick about the importance of inner healing and the experience behind her latest book and TEDx.

Rachel Kaplan is a licensed psychotherapist practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area for almost two decades, she has created the feelings movement. Rachel shows us that we don’t need to hide from emotional pain. Instead,  she teaches us how to become so skillful with it that you cultivate genuine self-love, authentic self-expression, and emotional resilience.

In Rachel’s TEDx Talk, she unveils a misconception in the therapeutic industry, revealing the most important factor of successful healing is not the interpersonal relationship with the therapist but an internal relationship between a person’s resourced and loving parts with their wounded parts. Kaplan describes her modality of Emotional Potty Training as the two phase mechanism to build this transformative and healing inner-relationship.

‘In my therapy practice and educational content as a podcast creator, workshop instructor, and leader in the global conversation about mental health and wellness, I blend ancient wisdom from Eastern practices with cutting-edge Western psych techniques.’
