International “ultra-soprano” (Second Inversion, WA, USA) and “new music rising star” (The Stranger, WA, USA) Emily Thorner is a leading soprano in contemporary operas, mainstream opera, and chamber ensembles. Known for her command of stratospheric high notes, Ms. Thorner is highly sought-after due to her unusually high range, fearless virtuosity, and ability to “jump in.”  She will make her Netherlands debut at Muziekgebouw and the Gaudeamus Festival this September with Asko|Schönberg.

On a Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa, Ms. Thorner was the leading Soprano in Hotel Paradiso, an opera conducted by Clement Power in Italy, sang in Aldeburgh Festival, BOAC Festival, Britten-Pears… 2023 brings her to: Scotland, California, Amsterdam, and Milan.
